Wannabe Films was founded in 1998 to support the passion projects of founders Wayne & Kelli Franklin. That meant they had to keep overhead low and their footprint small. Today, that lean and mean attitude still drives everything Wannabe does. The goal with every project is to give the client much more than their budget would suggest is possible. And whenever we can, we like to build those projects around stories rooted in what is real. Whether a feature-length documentary, a doc-style short, or a narrative TV spot based upon a true story, real stories have real impact.
That lean and mean approach to production, when combined with our documentary sensibilities, has allowed Wannabe to help tell the stories of many worthy causes from non-profits paving the road out of poverty to foster programs to cancer support agencies. Stories are the currency of our business. Our goal is to invest them wisely.
